I have seen Dr. Goldban for several years and he is fine, but I would advise against using the optician office on site. They have changed vendors a few times, and the one they have now is incompetent, does not cooperate with billing insurance and does not listen well to your needs. As soon as they open, I plan to try to get a hold of the doctor and let him know of my dissatisfaction.

Excellent visit with best opthamologist in the desert. I've been a patient for over 25 years. Cassandra, receptionist, was. friendly and professional. STEPHANIE, medical assistant, was superb and knowledgeable. Let's hope this level of care continues. Pleasant appointment, not rushed. 1/29/24.

My appointments were changed 3 times by the staff for various reasons and always pushed back weeks due to being so busy. Then they switched my doctor without my knowledge or permission. The customer service of the front staff is horrible It feels like no one knows what anyone else is doing nor do they really care. I have been a patient there for 5 plus years at the recommendation of my physician. You call and they are always to busy to take your call. Just really poor customer service. However, I did really like Dr. Goldban and found him to be an excellent Dr.

After being a patient for years, I decided I will never set foot in that office again.
I got a new pair of progressive glasses about 5 months ago. I had asked to get the same bells and whistles that I previously had, for my new prescription.
Low and behold, an extra $150 was added to my bill for transitional lens (that adjust with the sun). I told them I never had that in any of my glasses, that I really didn’t like it, and wanted the lens I asked for. They took the additional cost off and had my lens redone.
At this point all is good.
5 months later, one of the lens has a scratch on it, even though they are suppose to be anti-scratch. (and am very careful with my glasses) Apparently that doesn’t mean anything.
I asked if they could fix it and they told me that because they gave a discount last time (basically not charging for something I never asked for)and because they had to redo the lens, the cost to fix/replace this one scratched lens would be $400 plus. End of story! They won’t do anything else.
I walked out of there, stunned and angry. The worst after sale customer service you could expect. Shameful!!

Underwhelming. No follow thru.

The doctor has the bedside manner of an earthworm. Mumbling through a mask and unintelligible. I asked questions about my retina and he acted as though I was bothering him. Thanks so much.

I also needed a visual fields exam. I told them TWICE (when making the appointment and also when I started the appointment). They ignored me and dilated my eyes, making the visual fields impossible. This means I have to go back - and pay another co pay - to get the exam done correctly.

Also, while dilated and with my contacts out (so nearly blind) I was ushered to the 'Optical Department' where a staff member tried to upsell me on contact lenses, frame fittings, frame purchase and lenses. This was inappropriate and unprofessional and I literally refused to engage with the staff member, telling her I couldn't even see her and she would have to wait.

There is a general lack of organization and logic when you visit this office. My office visit should have taken 30 minutes and, instead took 90 minutes....and I have to return to finish up. The staff is nice, I guess, but obtuse and unhelpful. Unfortunately, many medical providers in the Coachella Valley aren't much better.

I had a cataract in each eye. Dr. Goldban has an extremely caring demeanor and is thorough and to the point. I was so nervous about my surgeries but Dr. Goldban was so comforting before the surgeries and after. I went from being legally blind in both eyes to 20/15! In both eyes. It is a Miracle for me and to Dr. Goldban I am extremely greatful. His staff is amazing and kind. I'm so glad I went to him. I recommend him highly! Thank you Dr. GOLDBAN!

He is a good doctor, I think, if you don't mind waiting for an hour plus for a routine appointment. I do mind so I left after an hour when I was told it would be another 20 minutes. Overbooking shows little respect for patients. When I called and asked that my records be sent to me so I can take them to another doctor, I was told I would have to come in to sign a release form. Wrong answer. I told them to mail me the release. We'll see if they follow through. Patients do have rights in CA.

Dr. Goldban is a fairly good doctor. However, staff is cold, hard, and uncaring. If something goes wrong they are quick to blame someone else.
Stronger recommend getting your glasses from someplace else. They sat on my order for 3 day before it was processed
